What this covers

A cookie is a small piece of information a website stores through your browser. Websites can also use similar technology called local storage and session storage. This page covers all of them.

We don't use analytics, advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we don't load advertising, analytics or social media scripts.

Needed for what you ask us to do

These only exist while you're using something that needs them, such as your account or a half-finished order.

rci_session Cookie

Keeps you signed in to your customer account. Set only when you sign in.

HttpOnly (scripts can't read it), Secure on the website, SameSite=Lax. Lasts 30 days, or until you log out. We keep only a scrambled (hashed) copy of it on our server.

rci-draft:takeaway, rci-draft:booking, rci-draft:join Session storage

Remembers what you've chosen and typed in a takeaway order, enquiry or job application, so a refresh, signing in, or the trip to PayPal doesn't wipe it. It can include your contact details and any allergy notes you've typed.

This browser tab only. Cleared when you finish, when you close the tab, or after 12 hours. Payment details are never stored.

rci-probe Session storage

A check that the draft storage above works. Written and removed straight away.

rci-login-email Session storage

Carries your email address from your order page to the sign-in page when you choose to log in there, so you don't have to type it again. Removed as soon as the sign-in page reads it.

Your theme choice

rci-theme Local storage

Remembers whether you chose the light or dark look. It's only stored when you press the theme button, and it stays until you clear it.

Nothing is stored to remember page animations or where you've been on the site.

Owner admin only

These are only set for Rena and the people who help run the website, when they sign in to the admin. Customers never get them.

Cloudflare Access cookies, such as CF_AppSession Cookie

Protect the admin sign-in. Set by Cloudflare only on the admin pages.

rci_preview Cookie

Lets a signed-in owner preview unpublished changes on the real pages. Lasts two hours.

Cloudflare

Cloudflare delivers and protects this website. It adds a small script that hides our email address from spam bots, which doesn't store anything. If it needs to check that a visitor isn't an automated attack, it may set a strictly necessary security cookie, and we don't use it for anything else. When we checked the public pages on 30 September 2026, no cookie was set.

PayPal and other websites

When you choose PayPal, you go to PayPal's own website to pay. PayPal uses its own cookies there under its own policies, and we don't control them.

The same goes for Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat and WhatsApp if you follow our links to them.

Why there's no cookie banner

Everything above is either needed for something you've asked us to do, or remembers a choice you made yourself. The law doesn't require consent for those, so we don't show a banner.

If we ever add analytics or anything else that isn't needed, we'll ask first, nothing will be set until you choose, and saying no will be as easy as saying yes.

Your choices

You can clear cookies and site data for renacookedit.com in your browser settings at any time. Clearing them signs you out and removes any half-finished order in that browser.
